The 440 acre Throckmorton Farm was a big under-taking in those post war years. Of those 440 acres, they always tried to have at least 60 acres in wheat.

Warren is shown above pulling a John Deere Model "12A" Combine with a John Deere Model "B" in oats. Contour farming shows they were into conservation farming early on.

Carl, Warrens younger brother, is using a John Deere Model "L" Tractor to haul soybeans. Can you imagine hauling all the grain off the Throckmorton farm to the elevator with this outfit? An umbrella would have come in handy. Heck, a '51 Ford pickup with Omaha Standard stockracks could get 50 bushels to town quick!
